Concept
Imagine going to school because you want to learn. Imagine that you have complete control of your educational destiny, not anyone else. Imagine having as much freedom as you choose in your education. Imagine setting your own goals, and achieving them.
Well, you don’t need to imagine: You can already have all of the above; you probably just don’t realize it. The Schools of Non-Institutional Education can show you one method of accomplishing this, because, in reality, we are only stopped from achieving this dream by our own beliefs.
The concept behind this website, “school”, and “organization” is simple: Humans are endowed naturally with the ability to learn. Traditional schools have evolved to attempt to aid in this process, but they are not the only method that exists, nor are they always the most effective method. But they are the method that is most recognized by society. Our goal is to help people fit all forms of learning into these paradigms so that their learning may equally be recognized.
The good news is that "alternative" education has grown immensely in the last couple of years, and on several fronts there are accredited schools, colleges and universities that will accept a wide range of methods of demonstrating competency in the knowledge and skills of a discipline. What this site allows you to do is to give ideas about how you can come up with your own classes, and gives you a place to put your class materials and thoughts. All you need to do is request an account, and you can make your own stuff. You also can use the materials others have created here to help you in your own study. This site will also help point you in the direction about how you can get "official" recognition of your learning by "transferring" the classes to an accredited institution.
